Who we are

Map AI is operated by Map AI, Inc. (Map AI, we, us), a corporation registered in Wyoming, United States. Registered address: 5830 E. 2nd St., Ste. 7000, Casper, WY 82609.

We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.

The short version

We collect the details you give us when you create an account, subscribe or write to us, plus standard technical data about your visit.

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google — nothing else.

We use this to run your account, take payment, answer you, keep the service secure and improve the product.

We do not sell personal data.

The area statistics we publish are not personal data about anyone.

What we collect

When you create an account

Name, email address, and either a password you set or a Google account identifier (see section 04). Optionally your company and role.

When you subscribe

Billing name and address, subscription plan and status, and the last four digits of your card. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store full card numbers.

When you use the product

The locations, neighbourhoods and comparisons you look up, the reports you generate, the questions you ask the AI chat, your saved views and preferences, and your usage against plan limits.

When you contact us

Your message and anything you include in it, plus the email address or form details you used.

Automatically

IP address, browser type and language, operating system and device type, access times, pages viewed, referring URL, and identifiers set by cookies. These are listed in the Cookie Notice.

We do not ask for special categories of personal data — health, biometric, religious or political — and you should not send them to us.

Signing in with Google

Most of our users create an account with Google Sign-In. When you do, Google shares with us your name, email address, Google account identifier and profile picture. That is all we receive.

We never receive your Google password, and we do not access your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Contacts or any other Google service.

We use this information only to create your account, sign you in and identify you in the product.

You can revoke our access at any time in your Google Account, under Third-party apps with account access. Doing so means you will need another way to sign in; write to us if you get locked out.

What we do not do

We do not buy contact data from data brokers to market Map AI, and we do not enrich your profile with data purchased from third parties.

Earlier versions of this notice, inherited from a general corporate template, described such practices. They do not describe how Map AI operates.

The area data we publish is not personal data

Map AI publishes statistics about geographic areas — population, income, housing, education, health indicators, commuting and traffic — compiled from public sources such as the US Census Bureau, the CDC, HUD, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the FBI and the Department of Education, plus modelled traffic data from TrafficZoom.

Every figure describes an area, never a person, a household or an address. We do not hold, publish or sell records about individuals, and our data cannot be used to look anyone up.

Why we use your data, and on what legal basis

Creating and running your account — performance of a contract.

Providing the maps, reports, comparisons and AI chat you request — performance of a contract.

Taking subscription payments and preventing payment fraud — performance of a contract; legitimate interests.

Answering your support messages — performance of a contract; legitimate interests.

Security, abuse prevention and enforcing usage limits — legitimate interests.

Understanding product usage so we can improve it — consent, via analytics cookies; legitimate interests.

Marketing emails about Map AI — consent, withdrawable at any time.

Tax, accounting and legal obligations — legal obligation.

Who we share it with

Hosting and infrastructure providers; Stripe for payments; email, CRM and support providers; the analytics providers listed in the Cookie Notice; the model provider that powers the AI chat, which receives your question and the relevant area data but not your identity; professional advisers; and authorities where the law requires it.

All of them act on our instructions under a written agreement. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers.

International transfers

We are established in the United States, and some providers process data in the United States and the European Economic Area.

Transfers out of the EEA or the UK are made under Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK Addendum, or another recognised safeguard. You can request a copy at support@map-ai.co.

How long we keep it

Account data — while the account is active, then 3 months.

Saved searches, reports and preferences — while the account is active.

AI chat history — 12 months.

Support correspondence — 12 months.

Billing records — as long as tax law requires.

Analytics and server logs — 12 months.

You can delete your account at any time in your profile settings, or by writing to support@map-ai.co.

Security

HTTPS across the whole service, encryption of stored credentials, access limited to staff who need it, and regular review of our providers.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data and the law requires notification, we will notify you and the relevant authority.

Your rights

EEA and UK

Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection (including to direct marketing), and withdrawal of consent, plus the right to complain to your data protection authority.

California

The right to know, to receive a copy, to delete, to correct, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as the CCPA and CPRA define those terms.

Other US states

Where a comprehensive privacy law applies, comparable rights of access, correction, deletion and opt-out.

Write to support@map-ai.co. We verify identity and respond within 30 days.

Children

Map AI is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to support@map-ai.co and we will delete it.

Changes to this notice

We post changes on this page and update the date at the top. Material changes are announced by email to account holders before they take effect.
